Another huge CardSpace win goes live: CDiscount
Those are magical weeks 🙂
With its 5 million users and daily transaction in the tens of thousands, CDIscount.com is among the key web retailers in France.
CDiscount wanted to harden the checkout phase and make easier for the user to transmit shipping information. Jean-Francois Gomez, Microsoft France’s Platform Strategy Advisor, introduced CardSpace to CDiscount. When it was clear that CardSpace could provide a valid solution to those concerns, architect extraordinaire (“literally” :-)) Pierre Couzy provided architectural guidance for making CDIscount a full blown relying party website with complete support for personal cards.
You can experience yourself the application, just by going through a purchase transaction on the live CDIscount website (it’s in French, but since I lived close to the borders for more than 30 years (4 hours of car from Nice) it’s not a problem for me :-)). There is also a video on10, where you can find more information on this exciting project. I believe that Pierre may write more about it, so I suggest to subscribe to his blog and look for him at TechEd Barcelona next week.
Congratulations to Pierre, Jean-Francois, CDiscount itself and to everyone involved!
Cool; but why aren’t they displaying the “Information Card” icon [1]?
